In cooperation with the California Public Defenders Association and the Sacramento County Bar Association's Indigent Defense Panel, we are happy to provide CPDA Training tapes for the continued education of the Attorneys assigned to represent CCD Clients.

CPDA331 Proposition 21 Defense Practice Seminar:  On March 7, 2000 California voters approved the “Gang Violence and Juvenile Crime Prevention Act of 1998”, commonly referred to as the “Wilson Juvenile Justice Initiative” or “Proposition No 21”.  This measure embodies a package of major “reforms”-or- “deforms” depending upon your point of view-that dramatically alter the state’s a juvenile justice system, and by both direct and indirect, ripple effect, the state’s adult criminal justice system, as well. CPDA359 Computer Lab Workshop:  Hands on computer seminar.  (No Beginners, Please) There is two hours of “hands-on” computer training, an additional hour at “stations”, actually using equipment, and one hour of lecture.  The three hands-on hours will cover the following:  One hour will be Crime Time and CPDA products (including CLARAWEB and CLARALAW).  One hour will be Westlaw, covering legal research, but expanding to researching periodicals, finding people and records.  One hour will be at “station”, including one for a PDA (Palm operating system), one for digital cameras, and one for using Corel Presentations.  The hour lecture will include using Internet and Dragon Naturally Speaking for use in your case.  We will use a case fact pattern, and everything will relate to that case.   10/13/01 5 Hrs
